$80 million investment in eye medication
/0 Comments/in News /by NQ Eye AdminThe Australian Government will invest $80 million in eye medications through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), effect from tomorrow. Patients who suffer decreased vision as a result of blocked veins in the retina due to a condition known as retinal vein occlusion (RVO) are now able to access subsidised medication which is prescribed by their Ophthalmologist and injected into the eye. Availability to treatment options such as these are vital to those patients suffering with poor and deteriorating vision due to RVO and other diseases of the eye.
